Camp Looking Glass began in 2004 as a camp for children and adults with disabilities. We come together during the summer and throughout the year to create artwork, travel, and experience new and exciting adventures.

Soon camp became more than just monthly gatherings and summer camp experiences. Camp Looking Glass is a place where people with and without disabilities come together and life long friendships are formed.

What we do...

Camp Looking Glass is made up of people of all ages and abilities. We are a diverse group! Currently, Camp Looking Glass takes place every summer at Leroy Percy State Park, located outside of Greenville, MS, just five miles west of Hollandale, on MS HWY 12. Campers and counselors reside in one of our rented seven cabins; and there is a group cabin used for classes, meals and social activities. Camp activities are much like activities you would expect to see at any other camp. Some of our activies include yoga, music, sports, arts and crafts, dancing, photography, swimming, horseback riding, and boating. Each summer we end our session with a play that is fun for everyone!

Year-round activities

The fun doesn't stop when the summer is over! Throught the year we gather for day long art days. On these days, we come together to express our creativity and create artwork that is later featured and sold at area arts and craft festivals.  We also explore other communities and opporutnies through travel. The past two years a group of has traveled to Nashville, TN for the Dragon Boating Festival, and Camp Looking Glass is the proud winner of the competitions spirit award given to a team demonstrating the true spirit of teamwork.

Location, location, location

Leroy Percy is distinct in its look, where Cypress trees peek out of the water. Leroy Percy is also known for its alligator population--visitors can safely observe the scaly reptiles from two observation towers over their hot artesian water home.

In the future, we plan to purchase land to build a campsite in Greenville. If you would like to donate money to our land project, please write “Donate funding for land” on your check or PayPal donation.
